Fonnie_Lo answered:
To reduce a gaseous stomach, the best way is to burp a baby during and after feeds properly. If baby appears to be fuzzy or discomfort due to the gas, please consult your paediatrician before giving baby the gripe water by yourself to exclude any other causes. Gripe water is not suitable for a newborn except under a paediatrician guidance.

Gurpreet answered:
When we breastfeed the baby or give him topfeed, they tend to get colic and uneasy ,sometimes they vommit also. It is best to give yr baby a massage & massage his tummy in circular motion so his stomach becomes soft and he passes wind . Then u give him a warm bath and massage lotion on his body and give him a spoon of gripe water. It is very important to make sure that mom who are breastfeeding should take care of what they eat as avoid food that produce gas which are heavy and which are not easly digested as what we eat while feeding goes to yr baby and his digestion system is still developing so he becomes uneasy or even cries alot so do tk care of those little darlings. Giving gripe water helps them cut down the wind & they free light and start playing and even hv a soundless sleep.

I gave my baby gripe water when she had colic but I don't find it effective. Just stick with the traditional 'YU YEE Oil'. Remember not to rub it onto baby directly...always heat it on your palms first.

I didn't use at all as I believe it contains some drug/alcohol in it and baby can get hooked on it and gets dependent on it. I just use good old traditional tummy oil "Ru Yu You"...
